Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Hours are published for 4 days a week. Typical hours are 10 am–7 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Top Dental at (956) 618-5811; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, topdentalmcallen.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 117 reviews, which is a strong result for a dentist in McAllen and suggests consistent service.

I've been going to Top Dental in McAllen for about 5 years. Their service has always been excellent. Staff is friendly and professional and Dr. Baek is great at evaluating you then coming up with a treatment plan that satisfies your needs. A great plus is their hours of operation. They open weekends that offer appointments all day on Saturday. With everyone's busy work schedules, that is definitely an advantage. I definitely recommend Top Dental in McAllen.

I had a wonderful experience at Top Dental. The staff, from the front desk to the dental hygienist and Dr. Baek, were all incredibly professional, kind, and welcoming. The office is very clean, modern, and comfortable. My routine cleaning was comfortable, painless, and they took the time to explain the process and show me proper flossing technique. I am so happy with the results and highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a great dentist!

Nothing but Great things to say about Dr. Joon Baek and his staff at Top Dental. Over the last 3 years I have had 2 implants, a couple of filling replacements and a cap done by Dr. Baek and have had no problems. He also recommended where to go for a root canal. So I thought it was time to give him a review and it is A++ His staff is so nice and congenial. Just completed my 6 month check up and all was well. If anyone in town is looking for a great family dentist at a reasonable price go to Top Dental.

Wow 🤩 Not only is Dr. Baek the best dentist I’ve ever met, he’s got the best staff to compliment him… Daniel & Ned really helped make me comfortable and give me a great experience my first time. Gilbert made me feel like VIP and put me in a great mood. Very cool guy 😎 Noah was so thorough and gentle. The time flew by quick & painlessly because of him. 😁 I drive far to go to Top Dental because it’s so worth it. I highly recommend this Dentist. I have dental insurance that isn’t covered here so I pay out of pocket because they are that good 💵 The massage chairs in the waiting room are such a nice touch. I like being able to watch Netflix while my teeth are being cleaned. If you are anywhere near the RGV, I highly recommend going here even if you have to drive an hour. You won’t regret it. Cleanest business I’ve ever seen. The vibe was exactly what I look for. You can tell Dr. Baek really pays close attention to details. Best experience in medical service I’ve ever had… Every time I go here 👏🏻
